My Stories

I love TV.
Good TV.
Bad TV.
Reality TV.
Drama, Comedy, or Action
I love it all.

I thought today I would share 3 of my faves.
There are many many shows that I love, but
if I put all of them on here we would be reading for days!
So here are a few I've been watching a lot of lately!

1. Big Love

This great HBO drama follows the life of a polygamist family.  It ran for 5 seasons and has since ended.  It's funny, it's touching, it's outrageous how something like this can be so addicting.  And it has an all-star cast - Bill Paxton plays husband Bill Henrickson alongside his 3 wives, Barb (Jeanne Tripplehorn), Nikki (Chloe Sevigny) and Margene (Ginnifer Goodwin).  I don't feel like I can even do this show justice by talking about it here, but it is definitely one to look into!

2. Big Brother

Big Brother is a disgusting guilty pleasure of mine.  I love sitting in front of the TV for 3 hours a week screaming at the characters about what to do and how I could do it better to win $500,000.  I guess it must be harder than it looks because if it were me, Mike Boogie would have been voted out long ago and Janelle would be well on her way to the half mill.  I love this show and all of its antics, including the phenomenal dose of back stabbing and trash talking, not to mention some pretty great competitions that I think would be stellar to play in!

3. Breaking Bad

Well I just started Season 2 of Breaking Bad today (please no spoilers!).  But I love this show. Basically anything to do with drugs, cops, or a mixture of the two makes me love it almost instantly, and the fact that there are tons of great characters in this show makes me love it even more! I can't wait to see how this season pans out - I mean let's face it, the finale of season 1 was amazing!

1 year

1 year ago today.

  • I remember little things like:
    • I lost my make-up brushes, and then I found them.
    • Seeing a friend walk into the church at the last minute.
    • Looking at a red dahlia in my bouquet.
    • The gold etching on the tabernacle
    • The fan under the altar - it felt so good!
    • Voice cracking when I first started saying my vows.
    • The music
    • Walking back down the aisle hand in hand - did this really happen?!
    • Lots of beautiful flower petals running out of the church!
    • A great car ride away
    • IT WAS HOT! - EVERYWHERE!
    • Good dinner
    • Lots of dancing
    • Lots of friends
    • Some awkward toasts
    • Great cake - the top of which will be opened tonight - one year later!
Happy One Year Seth! I love you!

On a different note, I got totally spoiled this morning.  I got a mirror full of post-it notes and a great card AND a beautiful pandora charm!

here we go again

I have done this blogging thing off and on and always deleted it when I got sick of it, but I just want a place to write down my thoughts and what not.

On Monday, Seth and I will have been married for one year. I had an older patient tell me this past week that it will just keep speeding up. He said, "Sometimes I look around and feel like it's still 1950, that's how fast time goes by."  I really truly can't believe it.  The time has flown. And they sure aren't kidding when they say that the first year of marriage is hard.  Sometimes it is flat our ludicrous.  But I would be lying if I didn't say that it had made me a better person.  I don't know what we are doing this weekend, I really want to go see "The Campaign" so hopefully we can swing that either tomorrow or Monday.

We got Seth's classroom a little more decorated today and I think he's going to be great. We had some anxious moments in our house this past week, we found out that Seth might have had to move to a different building in the same district. It would have been really disappointing because he absolutely loves the school he's in right now.  Luckily the administrator pulled him in on Friday and told him and another teacher (in the same situation as Seth) that they were both going to be able to stay in the district. What a relief!

Anywho. We're tv bingeing on Big Love.  If you haven't watched it I highly recommend it if you aren't easily offended! :D
